Hey, no time to talk, but there will be a newsletter heading everyone's way shortly. I know we've neglected it, we're trying to get a new staffer to do it (don't apply, I think we already have our man). Also, I'll update the staff section sometime soon to add guruzeth.
Blue Cultist's game information tables will be up sometime, I hope. Assuming he gets back to me.
'Plo's HARD Trivia' contest will be up by Monday, with the greatest of luck. Forgive me again, Plo, I'm insanely busy and keep forgetting to get your section ready to go. Hope you're ready to start tending to it :)

A few things
|
Hey everyone, I'm back, I was AWOL for various reasons. I'm EXTREMELY busy with school, so please understand my lack of updates.
Wanted to remind EVERYONE to participate in Project: Ruffini! This has potential to make a GREAT impact if we can rustle up enough people to send in letters! You don't have to write a novel, just a quick letter that follows the guidelines. It'll only take you a few minutes, and you'll be playing a VERY pivotal role in letting Nintendo know that we EarthBound fans don't take 'No' for an answer, and we're really getting sick of of the 'Later's :)
Tell your friends too -- Anyone who submits their letter to us gets their name in the Ruffini Wall of Fame, which will shine for thousands to see, and will go up sometime this coming Tuesday or Wednesday. The Ruffini Wall of Fame will be the envy of every RPG fan on the internet, I guarantee ;) I haven't taken the time to count the letters yet, but we've gotten quite a few submissions, so keep em coming!
Also - Pokey won that GIA poll without a doubt, but they still haven't closed it! Ah, well, at least we don't have to worry about him anymore. Someone e-mail me when the poll is closed, k?

Articles - EarthBound Exodus
|
Within lies some of the most insightful and senseful articles I've ever read. It's been a while since the last update but this is definitely worth it. Skulryk's article I must tell you, is a declaration of common sense that everyone should hear. I'm just wondering why he didn't use the screenshot in his article.
Spiffage, as soon as you read this, send your

" article to the address at the bottom of this update so I can re-post it. I don't know where it went. I reiterate, almost all of these articles are great.

School.....AAAHHH!!!

Well, as many of my fellow EarthBound friends are finding out, it is September. That mean that summer is ending and school is starting. I too have to go back to school, starting tomorrow, September 8th 1999.
This means that I will only be getting the computer Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It will be a rare occasion when I get online to do anything during the week. So updates will slow down on both the Mother 2/EarthBound section and on EarthBound Express .

Well, I know I'm kinda late today, but the result is the same -- the Contests have been updated for this week. The only catch is that the Hideaway has not yet been hidden on account that reidman won't be here until Tuesday, but we'll let ya know as soon as it is! In the meantime, feel free to whet your trivia pleasure with this week's brand-new Scavenger Hunt!
One note for scavenger hunt: please be sure to use the same name each week so you get the recognition in the Hall of Fame that you deserve! If you're in the Hall of Fame under different names, email me and let me know about it so I can fix it. So I'll be flying for now.

It's slowly becoming more popular, and the database files are being used in other search engines as well. So if you're starting a new EarthBound site, you might want to submit your site to the EarthBound section there.

Project: Ruffini the Dog
|
This is it, the big one. Everyone knew we'd do it sometime, but we finally followed through. Are we psychotic? Yes. Are we sleepy? Yes. Do we think that Project: Ruffini is a hilarious name and perfectly suited for such a wacky, yet innovative, project? Most definitely.
Many will think that Project: Ruffini is little more than a letter-writing campaign. Yes, thats true, and I'm sure lots of letter-writing campaigns have failed before. But this is EarthBound.Net - this is the EarthBound COMMUNITY! No other group of gaming fans is as devoted to our gaming series as we are, and now I want to prove it.
So I present to you our Project: Ruffini the Dog. Its mission? To let Nintendo know that we EarthBound fans are alive and kicking. The only way that it will succeed? If YOU get involved. We need participation from everyone to make this a success! Now go read about it!

A lot of you have been wondering about EB.net radio. I don't know why, but the other host of the radio...didn't really host it. So, now I'm going to sacrifice my bandwidth to do it :).
People that regularly go to the #earthbound chat room probably know all of this already. But the Radio Section has been updated with different information. Check it out.

Woo Hoo! Return of the Fan Games!

Its about time! Actually, I should have updated with this earlier, but I was real busy (sorry spawny). Anyways, spawnoft (the man) has created a new fan game for everyone to enjoy! This game is pure programming, none of that KnP stuff. Delphi - its the good stuff kids go for.
Anyways, enough talking, check out the Fan Games section for more info and go download EBLite's Demo 3! :)

IGN64 has released another batch of screenshots on Mother 3. We would have some screenshots of our own if I could only view that high-res video (thats right, I haven't seen it yet).
Speaking of which, anyone know of a non-QuickTime mov player? Or can anyone convert it to a different format? It would be SO cool if someone could make it into an avi...If you think you can help, e-mail me at reidman@earthbound.net :)

" and his dog but no ness...
Then who the heck is THIS??????

This is apparently the only way I'm going to get this through to all staffers:
When you want to update ANY html, always download a fresh copy, then quickly make the changes, and then upload it. This needs to be done, so do it. Else I'll do something to you.
Also, no one has been sending me any Mother 1/EB0 stuff, so if anyone has any information/pictures/music that I don't have, be sure to send(with full credits, of course).
That is all.

Mother 3 takes another big leap on the famous charts in the Japanese magazine 'Famitsu Weekly'! The cool thing? Mother 3 is right on the heels of Zelda Gaiden! All you Japanese people who voted for Mother 3 rock :)

Pokey has a decent chance of being voted as the most useless RPG character ever! He's at 13% of the vote (out of about 4000 votes), trailing 'Rafa and Malak' by about 200 votes. C'mon, we can get that EASY people :)

Site of the Month Time!

Its that time again kids - Site of the Month! The Site of the Month award for September goes to MoldySpore for his extremely cool page at EarthBound Express. The design is great, content abounds, and Moldy is one of the elder EarthBounders, since he's been around almost as long as my site has.
Speaking of which, my site (You Are Now EarthBound) is back...sorta. Few of the links work. A lot of people knew about this, but not all. I'm just saying this to end the massive flood of e-mails that all inquire
"WHY DOESN'T YOUR SITE WORK??
". My NetUSA1 account was....jeopardized...ummm...Well, suffice to say, never assume that an ISP doesn't check to see how much webspace you're using, as opposed to how much you're ALLOWED :)
Also, the EB.Net alias spree is over. Sorry to all you who wanted one - but poor Julia has enough to do already, and we SAID they'd only be given out for a limited amount of time.
