We might need to come up with some other advertising schemes. Can you post to any Nintendo-related newsgroups? I can't think of any other place where we can do mass advertising. I posted on the msg board at rpgamer, but I think they might have deleted my message... I have an idea for earthbound.net. I really need to talk to you real-time about it, but since I'm unable to do so right now, I'll attempt to describe it in this message. You said eb.net was more than just a host for eb sites. So I think what we should do is have eb.net be more like a central news source/files repository/links depot/etc. sort of along the lines of IGN64 and zophar.net. We would update every weekend with all the latest (there is a lot going on lately, even though EB was released a long time ago :) news. Visitors could choose to look at the files section, read the guest columns (and their archives), do that scavenger hunt, quizzes, and other fun stuff in the Contests section. We would have a Games section, where there would be info/links to EBA and EBX, and other stuff like that. We would have a links section which would have the most EB/Mother links (English and Japanese) of all the EB sites out there. Visitors could also check out the chat room, or discuss stuff on the msg board. And if they get tired, they can go mess around on the eb maps and visit the hosted EB sites. This is all hard to explain, so if I get the chance (highly doubtful, there still are lots of sigs to put up), I'll make up a demo of what I mean. The advantage to this is that we don't have to worry about the members uploading their sites. The hosted sites will just be in the background. The main stuff would be what I described above. We could have a cool navbar, layout, color scheme, etc. I even have a somewhat cool idea for a bg image... This new eb.net idea of mine is sufficiently different than all the other sites, and it will also be *the* EB site to go to, which is what it should have been back when it launched... Well, tell me what you think about all this. It won't take too much work to set it up, much less work than doing all those town maps. And it could be up sooner as well. -Tomato-
